Whether you’re looking to plan an exciting field trip for your boy or girl scout troop or searching for an entertaining and educational trip for your church, summer camp, or organization, the North Museum of Natural History & Science can provide an experience that’s out of this world! 

Guided tours can enrich your group’s experience.  Our staff can provide valuable information about the galleries, exhibits, artifacts and specimens.  The recommended length for a guided tour is 90 minutes and can include up to four exhibit areas.  Additional time is needed to include a Planetarium program or a visit to the North Museum Gift Shop.

Explore on your own!  A guided tour is not a necessity for groups visiting the North Museum.  Tour the museum at your own pace, allowing members of your group to investigate the areas that most interest them.  Reservations are required if you wish to receive the group discount rate. 

The North Museum’s permanent exhibits provide the backdrop for interactive learning experiences.  Permanent exhibit areas include:

• Dinosaur Gallery
• Discovery Room
• Hall of the Cosmos
• Light and Sight Gallery
• Live Animal Room
• Natives of the Susquehanna
• Cabinet Museum

The North Museum continually hosts temporary exhibits to enhance the visitor experience.  These exhibits can also be included in your group’s field trip. 

Planetarium Programs are an entertaining and educational way to explore the Universe and beyond.  The North Museum Planetarium is the largest planetarium in Central Pennsylvania and can accommodate up to 80 people.  Groups have the option of experiencing programs from our NEW digital full dome video projection system or traditional programs.  Choose from 17 different planetarium shows to complete your group’s visit to the North Museum.
