Second Saturday of every month (10:30 - 11:15 a.m.)
What do you get when you mix your favorite children’s story with real museum objects? It’s Grands are Grand! Grandparents are invited to bring their pre-school aged grandchildren to the North Museum on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. for fun-filled learning experiences and hands-on craft activities.
In 2010, come with us as we travel around the world! Learn about life in rain forests, deserts, island habitats, and more more! Collect a postcard from each place you visit!

March 13 - New Zealand - We'll fly across the globe to discover the Kiwi, an amazing flightless bird.
April 10 - Galapagos Islands - Next we'll travel across the Pacific Ocean to the home of the Galapagos tortoise, the blue-footed booby, and other interesting creatures.
May 8 - Mexico - Have you ever heard of a quetzal bird? This month we'll journey through Mexico and learn about the ancient Mayan culture.
The North Museum’s Grands are Grand! program was selected as one of 17 informal education programs judged to be most successful at increasing participants’ learning by the National Science Teacher’s Association (NSTA). It is included in an essay collection compiled by the NSTA entitled, Exemplary Science in Informal Education Settings: Standards-Based Success Stories.
