Photography Exhibit: The Land of Fire and Ice
Date: Through May
Thirty travelers braved wind and rain to see the mid-Atlantic ridge, the wild city of Reykjavik and to live the sagas. This photography exhibit showcases images captured from these travelers’ experiences as they roamed Iceland.
The Land of Fire and Ice is on display at the North Museum of Natural History & Science. Admission to this exhibit is included in the price of admission to the museum.
Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for children (3-17). Planetarium programs are an additional $2.00 per person. Admission is FREE to museum members.
Sensory Friendly Tuesdays at the North Museum
Date: First Tuesday of the Month
Time: 3:00-5:00pm
The North Museum and Planetarium is proud to announce the start of Sensory Friendly Tuesdays for families with children with autism. Join us on the first Tuesday of each month to experience everything the museum has to offer in a sensory-comfortable setting. Sensory picture maps help guide families through points of interest such as mystery box activities, low-volume planetarium shows where children are welcome to talk or walk around, and quieter time to explore exhibits.
The museum will be open to the public during this time but kindly asks that all guests respect the need for a quieter museum experience.
Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for children (3-17). Planetarium programs are an additional $2.00 per person. Admission is FREE to museum members.
First Friday: $5 at 5 with the North Museum
Time: Open until 7pm
The North Museum is the destination for family-friendly fun during First Fridays! Special planetarium shows and activities are included in the price of admission at just $5 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The planetarium will be open for self-guided star gazing from 5pm-5:30pm. Then embark on a celestial journey with the program Earth, Moon & Stars showing in the planetarium from 5:30pm-6pm. Both showings are sure to spark curiosity in adults and children of all ages.
Happy Mother's Day: Free Museum Admission for Moms

Unearth how diamonds were formed deep within the ground billions of years ago, how they’re mined and discover how this dazzling gem is used in many unusual ways. Light refreshments will be served.

Read, Touch & Discover Preschool Program
Date: Thursday from July 11- August 15
Time: 10:30 am
Read, Touch & Discover is especially designed to encourage young children to explore the world around them. Children will discover underground wonders from amazing creature and special treasures underfoot to underground animals and their homes. Each week features a different book that is brought to life with songs and hands-on exploration of real Museum collections. Recommended for ages 3 – 6. An adult is required to accompany children, older siblings welcome.
