The North Museum has a wonderful collection of well over 1,000 mounted birds from eastern North America, including extinct taxa. Practically all genera are represented in this collection. Some of the taxidermy shows the styles of the present-day but it also includes examples that date back to before the 20th century as well as a variety of bird eggs. Many are available for the public to view. An articulated moa skeleton is another example of a display that is rare for a small museum.
